The Marketing Manager will play a critical role in supporting execution of marketing and brand integration programs across the Optum Care portfolio of revenue and growth goals.

The successful candidate will report to the Sr. Director, Marketing & Brand and will focus their energy and attention in managing project teams focused on M&A activity including marketing and brand integration. This position requires a highly motivated, self-sufficient individual who can effectively interact with a range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, and quickly develop an in-depth understanding of UnitedHealth Group/Optum's initiatives, priorities, programs and its role in the health care system.

If you are located in Ontario, CA, you will have the flexibility to work remotely 1-2 days a week , as well as work in the office as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute in a matrixed environment and adjust quickly when priorities change
  • Work directly with manager to provide strategic, brand communications about integration, ensure accuracy of communications, and manage approvals with leadership and compliance
  • Serve as a trusted partner and work effectively with colleagues across the enterprise, including Optum CA Marketing & Brand, Communications, Brand and Integration Managers, New Market Integration, and M&A Diligence teams) to deliver rebrand timelines, resources to team members, ensure alignment of content, messaging and collaboration
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, while developing detailed project plans to monitor and track progress
  • Draft, edit and distribute content, tailored to the specific audience requirements (PowerPoint presentations, emails, executive communications, talking points, FAQs, scripts)
  • Adhere to applicable internal and external communications standards established for the business (branding standards/guidelines, internal style guides, naming conventions, legal/compliance/privacy review)
  • Provide ad hoc input and support on specialized communications issues

    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing or related field
    • 5+ years of proven experience:
      • Communications, marketing, Mergers & Acquisitions, and project management
      • Presenting to groups and teams
      • Content creation across multiple channels
      • Account management and relationship development assessing and interpreting client needs and requirements
      • Knowledge of web-based communications vehicles (Intranet, Internet, SharePoint sites, Teams)
      • Ability to work in a matrixed environment.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint)
      • Excellent communication and organizational skills and experience in deadline driven environment required.
      • Excellent writing and editing skills
      • Ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
      • Willingness to learn, strong work ethic

        • Experience within the Healthcare industry, physician groups and inner workings of physician practices
