Job Description:
SUMMARY: Reports directly to the Campus Associate Director of
Nursing, Clinical Education. - The Manager, Skills Lab assists with
the implementation of skills activities in the training of
healthcare professionals within West Coast University. - The
Manager, Skills Lab supervises the Skills Lab Coordinators, Skills
Lab Instructors and Full-time Skills Faculty. - Overall duties
include monitoring and controlling daily operations such as
equipment and supply inventory, and coordinating the training of
faculty in the skills lab. Facilitates validations and implements
consistent practices across faculty and validators. Ensures the
collection of data and analysis to evaluate utilization of
resources and student learning outcomes and assists with other
special projects or initiatives in support of student skills
development. - Supports and facilitates all skills lab activities
to maintain accreditation standards for the College of Nursing.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Three to five years strong clinical
experience in acute nursing patient care. Demonstrated knowledge
and understanding of human pathophysiology and the nursing process.
- Prior Skills Lab Faculty experience with demonstrated ability to
impact student outcomes. Nursing management experience preferred.
Prior experience using instructional technology. - (recommended to
keep- Knowledge of computer hardware and software application
relevant to skills functions. EDUCATION: Master's degree in Nursing
from an accredited college or university required.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Current Registered Nurse License required.
Must be qualified for approval by the Board of Registered Nursing
as an Assistant Instructor in medical-surgical nursing, if
