Job Description:
The Claims Manager is responsible for the overall operation of a
designated office. The Claims Manager participates in formulating
and administering company best practices as well as developing
long-range goals and objectives, analyzing costs, activities and
operations, supporting the goals of claims department and of
CorVel.Opportunity for hybrid work arrangement in our Rancho
Cucamonga, CA office. Qualified candidates must reside in
CA.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:Represents the company in
a professional manner to both internal and external customers and
clientsDirects the performance and development of the employees in
their departmentEnsures staff compliance with Workers' Compensation
laws and mandated regulatory reporting requirementsAssures peak
performance of the team through continued training and coaching,
coupled with regular performance evaluationsUtilizes Jurisdictional
Expertise and knowledge of regulatory rules, statutes and
procedures governing the jurisdictions assigned to ensure
complianceMonitors operational workflow and manages
appropriate/adequate staffing levels and staff retention
strategiesDevelops and oversees the implementation of common claim
practices and proceduresDirects and controls the review and
settlement of high dollar or potential high dollar claims, as well
as any claims that are beyond the authority of subordinate claims
personnelPromotes operational efficiency and quality by
continuously improving processes, people and systems to enhance
efficiency, consistency and qualityEnsures consistent and complete
compliance with CorVel's policies and proceduresAdditional projects
and duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Excellent written and
verbal communication skills necessary for customer contact,
negotiation, presentations, project management and personnel
managementEffective quantitative, analytical and interpretive
skillsExcellent leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to
motivate staff and obtain results through teamworkAbility to
function effectively under time constraints, consistently meet
deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work
environmentAbility to travel overnight and attend meetingsAbility
to remain poised in stressful situations and communicate
diplomatically via telephone, computer, fax, correspondence,
etc.Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to
utilize common computer applicationsStrong interpersonal, time
management, project management and organizational skillsAbility to
maintain a high level of tact and professionalismKnowledge of the
entire claims administration, case management and cost containment
solution as applicable to Workers' CompensationEDUCATION &
EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and
equivalent industry-related experience, with a record of steady
advancement in Workers' Compensation claims administrationMinimum
of 6 years' comprehensive workers' compensation administration
experienceMinimum of 5 years' leadership experienceCurrent license
or certification in Workers' Compensation must be maintained
throughout employment with CorVelSelf-Insured License requiredPAY
RANGE:CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary
ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are
established taking into account the following factors: federal,
state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location
differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications,
internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be
modified at any time.Pay Range: $77,760 - $129,456A list of our
