The Payroll/Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for processing payroll and providing HR support to the corporate department. This position will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources functions and duties.Human Resources Coordinator MUST:Provide a positive "Can-Do" attitude and show positivity through teamwork.Possess impeccable organizational skillsMust be extremely detail orientedRespond to employee inquires in-person, over the phone and via email.Exhibit extraordinary discretion, confidentiality, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with our team.Be able to work independentlyMust be trustworthyMust be able to thrive in a hybrid work environmentEssential Job Functions:Must have strong knowledge of public works and prevailing wagesMonitors and verifies all employee time billing, makes corrections as necessary and obtains manager approvals weeklyResponsible for full cycle bi-weekly payroll processing for all company employeesMonthly certified payroll reporting: utilize Payroll/HRIS system to run reports for certified jobs & utilize LCP Tracker to certify for DIR uploadMonthly California training contribution reporting and upload to DIRResponsible for creating orientation schedules and conducting new hire orientationsResponsible for assigning onboarding, orientation paperwork, and I-9 verification links through Payroll/HRIS SystemResponsible for employee I-9 document verificationKnowledge of FLSA and labor laws. Communicate to new and current employeesEducate and communicate company policies and procedures to newly hired and current employeesCreate and maintain personnel and confidential physical/electronic files for each new employee.Verify new hire information in time billing and HRIS systemsWork with HR Manager on Health and Safety protocols/proceduresResponsible for COVID-19 Protocol - including employee contact tracing, vaccination documentation and employee rewards trackingEmployee Relations such as employee engagement, employee rewards and recognitionAssist with employee training assignment trackingKnowledge of employee off boarding processesAssist with policies, procedures, and training compliance trackingAdheres to EEOC regulationsResponsibilities/DutiesAdheres to all company policies, procedures, standards, and safety rules.Performs other duties as assigned by manager.Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.May be required to work additional hours and/or weekends, as needed, to meet deadlines or to fulfill travel obligations.Experience/Education:Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field2+ years related experience and/or trainingEquivalent combination of education and job experienceKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:General: Ability to multi-task, prioritize, organize, solve problems, and complete tasks independently with little supervision required; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information.Technical: Excellent understanding of PC and standard Office software and hardware.Personal: Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language; ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Communication: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Computer: Ability to proficiently use computer software programs and related computer applications, Outlook, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications and other industry-specific technology tools used within the organization. Willingness to learn additional software applications.Physical and Environmental Elements:Physical demands: Ability to sit continuously for over 2/3 of normal work shift. Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a regular basis. Ability to talk and to hear continuously. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally. Finger dexterity is required frequently for over 2/3 of the normal work shift.Vision: Ability to see at close range (20 inches or less), at a distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), ability to identify and distinguish colors, ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships, and ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.Work Environment: Employees work in an office environment. Noise levels are moderate (such as computers and printers) and temperature conditions are usually controlled. Hybrid opportunities are available.
