Job Description Position Summary: Under the general supervision
of the Learning & Development Manager [Supervisor], the Learning &
Development Trainer II is responsible for researching, designing,
evaluating course curriculum and facilitating engaging learning
modules, programs, resources and events, ensuring Company can
develop and retain talent while creating a culture of learning. The
L&D Trainer II is responsible auditing and maintaining the
training library. Trainer II is responsible for the research,
evaluation, and sharing of best practices for the design and
delivery of training covering a wide range of topics for large and
small groups or one-on-one, either in person or virtually.
Conducts multiple training classes on an ongoing and frequent
Performs advanced formatting functions using Microsoft Office
and other programs as needed.
Prepares training resources including the use of Word and Power
Point as well as printing, copying, and binding training materials,
manuals, and handouts.
Promotes Team Culture through all interactions.
Ensures a welcoming environment for training attendees.
Communicates effectively with management and training department
Works closely with other trainers and serves as their backup as

Assists in the scheduling of training classrooms and

coordinating classroom set up with facilities and IT.
Works with subject matter expert to help validate content is

Performs at basic competency for WebEx/E-Learning.
Develops curriculum for new training programs as well as
reviews, evaluates, and modifies existing curriculum as needed.
Assists in the training needs analysis process.
Researches, analyzes and recommends external training
Responsible for auditing and maintenance of library of training
material and index of training sources.
Attend conferences/trainings and bring back best practices to
share with team in formal setting.
Must have advanced understanding of L&D, processes, and
Conduct needs analysis.
Pre/Post training focus.
Performs at intermediate competency for WebEx/E-Learning.
Collaborates with Lead trainers on L&D initiatives.
2 or more years of experience as a Trainer.
Subject Matter Expert (equivalent to 3 or more years of
experience working in [assigned field(s) of training]
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution required.
Licensed Clinical Professional in lieu of degree may be
ATD Master Trainer Certification preferred
Foundational knowledge of managed care practices.
Intermediate knowledge of fundamental training/L&D
techniques for adult learning.
Must have thorough understanding of Company, department,
policies and procedures typically gained from previous work
Must have working knowledge of office equipment.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Power
Must have advanced formatting and technical skills.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills to
produce and deliver quality training programs.
Ability to learn new computer software as needed.
Must be comfortable with public speaking and at ease moderating
training classes often consisting of attendees with diverse
personalities and backgrounds.
Must have ability to recognize the importance of customer
service and work to incorporate traits of outstanding service into
all facets of the training program.
Must adapt easily in an environment of constant change.
Must have attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
Ability to understand and implement program objectives.
