You'll be responsible for:
* Providing excellent customer service at our service desks and
Second Story and Beyond children's museum inside the Biane Library,
where you'll help connect families with discovery experiences based
on literacy and literary themes.
* Assisting with planning and presenting children's programming may
include reading stories, singing songs, and doing hands-on
activities.
* Contributing to creating a welcoming, organized, and fun space
for children and families.
* Helping to create and maintain safe library and museum spaces
utilizing the organization's policies and code of conduct.
* Handling ticket sales and point of sale (POS) transactions.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED
Education and/or Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree in
Library Science, six units of college-level technical library
courses, one year of library experience or any combination of
training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and
abilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of library work; the use
of library indexes, catalogs, and simple reference sources. Ability
to communicate both orally and in writing; establish and maintain
cooperative working relationships with the public, especially
children.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequent standing and sitting. Dexterity and coordination to handle
files and single pieces of paper; occasional lifting of items
weighing up to twenty-five pounds such as files, stacks of paper,
references, and other materials. Moving from place to place within
the office; some reaching for items above and below desk level.
Strength, dexterity, coordination, and vision to use keyboard and
video display terminal occasionally.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Generally clean work environment with limited exposure to
conditions such as dust, fumes, odors, and noise. Work schedule may
include evenings and weekends.

programming and services, the City of Rancho Cucamonga has
